The second phase of the Q-Methodology sort assigns the statements into specific ranks. This begins with a forced choice of the top “most agree” statements (in this particular case, the top two).

In this screen-shot, the top choice has already been made. The second choice has been selected on the right — clicking the “Select” button of a particular statement inverts the statement (so its selection is very clear). The destination of the statement is then determined by clicking a “Move Here” button at the desired spot.

The subject can backtrack at any time by clicking the “Remove” button by a statement. This returns the statement back to its initial categorization. The subject can then move it to a different location, as he sees fit.
